LA Local Businesses
- All Electronics Van Nuys (map) - Open 7 days. Mostly surplus electronics. Also available for online with flat rate shipping. I've found their staff to be helpful and it's a fun place to wander around and look at their ever changing stock.
- Apex Electronics Sun Valley (address and contact info) - Open Mon-Sat. Surplus electronics plus all manner of junk. The web site only offers a limited range of stuff. You have to see this place in person! Check out the panoramas to get a sense of it. It's possible to get some great deals here, though sometimes they act as if their products are like a fine wine... improving with age, and they charge accordingly.
- Signal Electronics Torrance (map) - Open Mon-Sat. Small well organized store with knowledgable staff. A bit more expensive.
- Torrance Electronics Torrance (map) - Open Man-Sat. Small really chaotic store. Stuff stacked everywhere, but good prices and selection.
- Fry's Electronics Manhattan Beach (map) - Open 7 days. We all know the good and the bad about Fry's. This is the closest one to CrashSpace, but also the smallest Fry's Electronics store in the chain.
- Industrial Metal Supply Sun Valley (map) - Open Mon-Sat. If you need metal of any size or type they've got it.
- Opamp Technical Books Hollywood (map) - For those hard to find technical specialty books
- Pacific Radio Hollywood (map) Burbank (map) - Lots of specialized radio/television electronics.
Online Supplies
- SparkFun Electronics - A company dedicated to hacker electronics with an ever growing selection.
- Ada Fruit Industries - They develop cool pieces of their own, so it's a small specialized collection.
- Small Parts - All the specialized little pieces you might ever need.
Online Services
- Protocase - They do small runs, and were helpful with a project I was working on.
